From Invisible to Influential: Why I’m a Credible Guide on This Journey

There’s a certain kind of silence that follows career upheaval.

I’ve been there — out of work with no prospects, no network beyond a company I could no longer represent, and no portfolio to showcase because all my best work was company proprietary.

After years of building other people’s brands, I suddenly found myself with no platform of my own.

And in that unsettling quiet, I realized something profound:
If I wanted new opportunities to find me, I had to be findable.

That’s when I turned to LinkedIn — not as a last resort, but as a blank canvas.
I recognized that it could be my vehicle for visibility, credibility, and connection.

What I didn’t expect was how human it would feel.
By engaging with kindness and intentionality online, I found community — people from around the world who resonated with my ideas, encouraged my growth, and helped me rebuild my professional identity one thoughtful interaction at a time.

And I made two vows that have guided me ever since:

  • Never again would I restrict my network to a single company or circle.

  • Never again would I neglect my own brand in deference to someone else’s.

Because digging oneself out of invisibility isn’t easy.
But it is possible.

And it’s worth it.

The Journey from Invisibility to Influence

That journey became the foundation for everything I teach today.

I’ve spent the past decade helping senior leaders transform how they are seen — not through vanity metrics, but through authentic, strategic visibility that earns trust and opportunity.

My work is anchored in frameworks I’ve developed and refined through hundreds of client engagements:

  • The LinkedIn Brilliance Framework™ — helping leaders articulate their value with clarity, credibility, and humanity.

  • The Executive Influence Triangle™ — a model for building thought leadership and presence where it matters most.

  • The Leadership, Seen™ research — my original research exploring the visibility challenges and opportunities for senior women leaders.

Along the way, I authored an award-winning, best-selling book, LinkedIn for the Savvy Executive: Promote Your Brand with Authenticity, Tact, and Power — now in its second edition and recognized by Forbes, Fast Company, CEO Weekly, and Influence Magazine as a must-read for modern leaders.

Why I Do This Work

Because I’ve lived the pain of invisibility.
And I know what it takes to climb out of it — with dignity, strategy, and purpose.

That’s why I dare to offer myself as your guide:

  • To teach you how to exercise your voice.

  • To help you be seen for the leader you already are.

  • To make your brilliance impossible to ignore.
